The IB Career-related Programme Framework
The IB Career-related Programme (CP) requires the study of at least two Diploma Programme (DP) courses, a CP core and a career-related study. The components of the core are at the heart of the CP and are designed to develop the personal qualities, skills and professional habits required for lifelong learning.
The CP core contextualizes the DP courses and the career-related study and draws all aspects of the framework together. The core is designed to develop many of the characteristics and attributes described in the IB learner profile: the more links that can be made between the different components of the core, the better!
The IBCP has been well-received. It has been commended for introducing interdisciplinary thinking to students. Some of the most selective universities worldwide recognize the IB and our students are regarded as some of the highest performers in their areas of study. The IB sends transcripts to about 5,000 universities in 100 different countries.
