The career-related study is designed to prepare students for higher education, an internship or apprenticeship, or a position in a designated field of interest.

Students get to know technology related to well-being

Students will apply to Varia's IB CP (Career-related programme) and to study the Finnish vocational qualification and training programme: Vocational qualification in Information and Communications Technology, 180 competence points, with qualification title “Hyvinvointiteknologia-asentaja” (Welfare Technology Installer).

By the end of IB CP two-year programme students have completed the following units as part of their IB CP career-related studies, CRS.

  • Compulsory unit: Using wellbeing technology to support clients in coping with daily life 15 cp 
  • Compulsory unit: Installations of security device and wellbeing technology systems 45 cp 
  • Common units 14 cp 
  • Optional units 30 cp (e.g. Cyber security 15 cp  + other optional unit 15 cp).

Before IB CP the students study the Compulsory unit: Basic ICT tasks 25 competence points. Before IB CP students study also 8 cp common studies such as basic English and digital skills.

After the IB CP the students will complete the remaining optional units, 30 cp mainly in work places doing the on-the-job learning.
